Tempur-Pedic Adapt Series - An Overview
Tempur-Pedic Adapt mattresses have a medium feel. Both models have soft TEMPUR-ES material and a TEMPUR Support Layer. The combination in both models achieves a medium-feeling mattress. These beds rate 4.5 and 5.5 on our 10-point Comfort Scale (10 is the softest). Since they are a medium feel, they’re good for all sleeping positions; back, side or stomach.
The big highlight of these beds is that they feature a cool-to-touch cover. The cooling comes from the cover being made with a high-weight yarn, which helps dissipate heat. This didn't seem intuitive at first, but if you think about how a marble countertop is cool because it is so dense, the same principle applies to this yarn. While it is a very thin material that doesn’t make the bed feel firm, the weight of the yarn means that this cover is inherently cool (unlike Breeze which is a treatment to the cover).

More about Tempur-Pedic Brand
Tempur-Pedic created the memory foam mattress category here in the U.S. Founded in 1992, they grew and grew until they became a household name and got large enough to buy the Sealy Mattress Company. They’re now a public company called Tempur-Sealy and sell mattresses worldwide.
There are two important points of differentiation vs other foam mattresses. First, Tempur-Pedic actually designs and manufactures foam components and mattresses. This speaks to their degree of expertise (most foam mattress brands buy components from suppliers).
Secondly, Tempur-Pedic has always created premium products. As in any industry, there are companies that make cheaply-priced, lower-quality products. Then there are those that make higher-quality, higher-priced products. Tempur-Pedic has always made high-quality mattresses using premium materials and manufacturing standards. The success of their mattresses and reputation for quality propelled their company to be the largest in the world.
ConclusionTempur-Pedic Adapt mattresses are good for all sleepers; they’re medium in feel and are available as either a hybrid (memory foam/innerspring) or as an all-foam bed. The choice allows you to pick a mattress that’s deeply conforming (the all-foam model) or the mattress with less sinking and more of a bounce (the hybrid.) The mattresses use Tempur-Pedic’s Tempur-ES and Tempur Support Layer materials, which have been proven reliable after many years of use by satisfied customers. They’re expensive by most standards, but they’re the intro-level prices from Tempur-Pedic. That being said, it’s a relatively good value for Tempur since you get their key foam features, quality construction, and dependability for less than their much higher-priced models. Even though these are the lowest-priced Tempur models, they are still premium mattresses and we recommend them. They have been well received by customers and have become very popular beds. |
