Tempurpedic Tempur-Ergo Adjustable Base Review
Making the leap from a regular foundation to an adjustable base is a big decision. You’re probably here trying to see if this model will meet your needs and if it’s for better comfort or for an ailment. People with issues like Arthritis, acid reflux, and trouble with snoring have found relief by using a power base.
The Tempur-Ergois a really good choice for both added comfort and for assisting with medical issues. It's the mid-level model by Tempur-Sealy with more features than the Sealy Ease but fewer than the Tempur-Ergo Extend. We've tested, played with, assembled, and laid on a mattress that was using the Tempur-Ergo in our research. If you want to know more about this TempurPedic adjustable bed you'll find it here in our expert review:

More on the Features
Wireless Remote Control |
The wireless remote for the Tempur Ergo Adjustable Base comes with several luxury features. Here they are from the top of the remote to the bottom
|
Adjustable Height Legs |
The legs for the Tempur Ergo base come in three-inch increments, meaning that the base can be from 8" to 17" off the floor. This is a great feature because everybody is a different height so this caters to people of all heights. The best part is that the legs automatically come with the base so you can adjust the height later on if you want it lower to the floor or higher up, it meets your needs no matter what. |
Split Bases for King & Cal King Beds |
A common concern that people have regarding adjustable bases is 'will it work with my (Cal) King mattress?'. Well, the good news is that Sealy has the Smart Sync™ pairing system which joins two separate adjustable bases together to work in unison for larger mattresses. Sometimes you and your sleep partner need different comfort levels to get your best sleep, but you still want the intimacy of sharing a bed together. Not to worry, you can get two separate Twin XL mattresses or a Split Cal King mattress for your preferred comfort levels and the Tempur Ergo power bases underneath can be joined physically but still function independently, which is a really nice feature. |
The Benefits of Having an Adjustable Base
Using an adjustable base will improve the comfort that your mattress gives you. It does so by allowing you to sleep in a position that relieves the most pressure on your body, ensuring your comfort for a better night's sleep. The Tempur-Ergo is a higher-end luxury model that offers benefits that most regular power bases don't. You get massage features, under-bed lighting, programmable presets, and anti-snoring features.
I know that a quality adjustable base can also help ease the pains associated with Arthritis from my own personal experience. Power bases also help with problems like acid reflux, joint and back pain, and sleep apnea.
Of the many benefits of pairing your mattress with an adjustable base, I'd say that their endurance is the best. Most adjustable bases are built to last well over ten years, which is how long most mattress warranties last. You could probably use it for 15 or 20 years even. You should really give one of these bases serious consideration for your next foundation.

Upgrade to the Tempur Ergo 2.0 Smart Base
If you like the Tempur-Ergo base but you're interested in sleep tracking and coaching, there is a smart option for this model. Powered by Sleeptracker-AI, the Tempur-ERGO 2.0 Smart Base provides insight into your sleep and coaches you on how to improve it. You can use the app to access your sleep summaries.
It also comes with automatic snore response, so if you begin to snore in the middle of the night, it'll automatically raise your head to an anti-snoring position.

More about Tempur-Sealy
Tempur-Pedic International Inc. acquired Sealy Corporation on March 18, 2013, and subsequently changed its name to Tempur Sealy International, Inc. on May 22, 2013. The U.S. Tempur business was originally founded in 1992 after nearly a decade of research and development of a product formulation originally designed for use by NASA. The Sealy business was founded in 1881 in the town of Sealy, Texas when Daniel Haynes, a cotton gin builder, filled a request for a cotton-filled mattress.
Tempur Sealy International Inc. (NYSE: TPX) is the world’s largest bedding provider. Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, Tempur Sealy develops, manufactures, and markets mattresses, foundations, pillows, and other products.
ConclusionThis is a higher-end Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed. It's priced a good bit higher than the Sealy Ease 2.0 base but offers many more features. The average customer rating for a Tempur-Ergo is 4.5 stars out of 5. Most people who purchased one agree that the added features of under-bed lighting, USB ports, and massage are really nice to have. The one thing that most of the customer reviews do mention is the sturdiness with remarks about how strong and durable the base is for them. The Tempur-Ergo represents a significant financial investment. Like me, most people are on a budget and cannot afford a luxury base like the Tempur-Ergo. That said, those people who can finance or outright purchase one of these bases will not be disappointed with the Tempurpedic Ergo Base. A large number of features and durability certainly make this a great choice for an adjustable base. If you just want an adjustable base without all those luxury options then you can save a lot of money by opting for the Sealy Ease 2.0. Either way, you will be getting a high-quality product from a trusted brand. |
